I could see students making a fakebook for conservation issues in a biology classroom or for a current researcher in the Biology field.","dateCreated":"1341848340","smartDate":"Jul 9, 2012","userCreated":{"username":"wahl8805","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/wahl8805","imageUrl":"https:\/\/ssl.wikicdn.com\/i\/user_none_lg.jpg"}},{"id":"55334320","body":"I think that using fakebook can be really useful in a chemistry classroom. I think it would be a great introduction activity to the periodic table. This could be a valuable resource for children to take part in as they begin to learn the elements. I could give each student an element to research and create a fakebook page. This will help them become more familiar with one element that they research and the other elements that their peers will research.","dateCreated":"1341848433","smartDate":"Jul 9, 2012","userCreated":{"username":"nick9278","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/nick9278","imageUrl":"https:\/\/ssl.wikicdn.com\/i\/user_none_lg.jpg"}},{"id":"55334378","body":"I could definitely use Fakebook in my physics classroom. I think it could be a good way to have students role play the scientific method. They could research a defining moment in physics and research all of the individual scientists involved, their own beliefs on the discovery, and the students can then create their own modern interpretation of conversations that would have been had between the scientists if the discovery had been made today.","dateCreated":"1341849015","smartDate":"Jul 9, 2012","userCreated":{"username":"bittingerdl1","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/bittingerdl1","imageUrl":"https:\/\/ssl.wikicdn.com\/i\/user_none_lg.jpg"}},{"id":"55334412","body":"I agree with JRGrabowski's comment. I think it would be fun for students to create a fakebook page about a person they are learning about in school. As a final project for the book, students can create a profile page for a specific character. Posts could allow students to experience writing\/conversing in the character's voice, and at the same time show students that written stories\/characters have real-world applications.","dateCreated":"1341849537","smartDate":"Jul 9, 2012","userCreated":{"username":"ashleyzen","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/ashleyzen","imageUrl":"https:\/\/ssl.wikicdn.com\/i\/user_none_lg.jpg"}},{"id":"55334462","body":"I agree with much of what was said above. Fakebook would be great for creating profiles for literary characters and historical figures. Like Dan Nickle, I also thought of using Fakebook to personify elements from the periodic table. I think fake social network sites, like Fakebook or Twister (Fake Twitter), are great because they provide a fun, interactive way for students to reflect on learning.","dateCreated":"1341862425","smartDate":"Jul 9, 2012","userCreated":{"username":"kaitlinlandy","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/kaitlinlandy","imageUrl":"https:\/\/ssl.wikicdn.com\/i\/user_none_lg.jpg"}},{"id":"55338026","body":"I think that fakewall is a great tool to tie in to literacy. Students can demonstrate their knowledge and findings about an author for purposes of an author study or write the thoughts\/feelings\/actions of a character within a specific book. These character descriptions can then be easily accessed and compared within a whole-class activity. However, I also agree that this tool can be used to demonstrate knowledge of a historical figure, in an engaging way.","dateCreated":"1341871294","smartDate":"Jul 9, 2012","userCreated":{"username":"bake2778","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/bake2778","imageUrl":"https:\/\/ssl.wikicdn.com\/i\/user_none_lg.jpg"}},{"id":"55346984","body":"I think that a great way to use fakebook is to have students chronicle historical events. Students can show how different historical figures would interact during or across historical time periods. This allows students to discuss what has happened but they can show their understanding of history and have fun with it at the same time. An example would be having a class create a
\nCold War page and give tell the class that they have to use posts, comments, likes or created events using a minimum of 10 people from the era and 10 events that can happen. The students can also insert the dates into the comments which can help them understand the chronology.","dateCreated":"1341937220","smartDate":"Jul 10, 2012","userCreated":{"username":"derekhouser","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/derekhouser","imageUrl":"https:\/\/ssl.wikicdn.com\/i\/user_none_lg.jpg"}}],"more":5}]}],"more":false},"comments":[]},"http":{"code":200,"status":"OK"},"redirectUrl":null,"javascript":null,"notices":{"warning":[],"error":[],"info":[],"success":[]}}
